My name is Luna, I’m a queer, boricua artist, baker, and poet, and more recently a photographer and darkroom lover too! I’ve been creating my whole life, but photography is a pretty new interest of mine as of 2 years ago, and I’ve been loving it ever since!
A lot of my photos are of my family and about my experience in this life, and I love to create soft and moody pictures. I have a lot of bad luck in the darkroom for some reason, but I’ve learned to use that as an advantage to get the murky moods I like!
This photo is of my siblings hands, they are passing an apple slice.
I wanted this picture to be warm, nostalgic even.
I think, sharing food with family is an intimate act, and I wanted to capture that.
Being close with your siblings is a beautiful thing, but there will always be a bit of grief knowing that the people who understand me the most, are growing up, and one day we’ll all move on.
So I’m glad I captured this little moment in time.
My photo is about the craziness in my mind. The overwhelming thoughts that you feel take over. It's about your confusion or all of your mistakes. I feel like this picture represents the “unknown” that can drive you crazy.
At first, I didn’t want the plate to be shown in the photo, but after looking at it more and editing it I ended up liking this picture with the plate a lot more than the others.
I think it creates a really cool border splitting my body in two. It looks like my legs are getting distorted or sucked into somewhere unknown.
