Summer Camp Protocols

Youth in Focus Summer Camp Policy and Info

In an effort to ensure the safety of all students, families, and Youth in Focus staff, we are maintaining the following protocols to ensure the safety for everyone in our space.

📸 Safety and Community

Youth in Focus Community Agreements
These are basic community agreements we ask of the whole YIF Community. Each class or group may come up with additional agreements to supplement these.

  1. Safe Environment: Zero Tolerance for Violence, Harassment, and Assault
  1. Respect: People - physical and emotional boundaries, Ideas - including artwork; YIF space, gear and materials
  1. Consent: Photographic consent; behavior consent; language consent; etc.
  1. Communication: Communicate your personal needs and boundaries; communicate when something is off; communicate when something is not working for you or you need help
  1. Center learning and growth
  1. Be open to sending and receiving feedback
  1. Be aware of the impact of your actions and how it affects (or may affect) others
  1. Have fun!

📸 Age Requirements

Classes are designed for the ages listed and are based on the grade the camper will be entering at the beginning of the Fall 2026 school year. Middle school camps are for students entering 6th-8th grade. High school camps are for students entering 9th-12th grade.

📸 Food & Lunches

Youth in Focus will provide each camper with a light snack and water each morning and afternoon.

Time is allotted for lunch on full-day camps. Campers are responsible for their own lunches. We highly recommend campers bring a lunch as there are limited food vendors in the area.

📸 Payment

All of our camps are FREE for 2026 thanks to 4Culture! To ensure that we are serving as many students as we can, you will need to confirm your enrollment 4 weeks before camp starts.

📸 Cancellations

We ask that campers notify staff via email or registration platform as soon as possible if they are unable to attend. This will allow us to serve campers on the waitlist.

To ensure attendance, staff will email each camper 4 weeks prior to camp start date to confirm your enrollment in the camp. If we do not hear back from you within 5 days, we will assume cancellation and provide the camp spot to students on the waitlist.

The camper can be added to the waitlist queue if attendance is confirmed after the 5 day period.
